Just like we all expected at the beginning of the year, Drew Lock is leading the defending Super Bowl champions in passing yards. He added on an additional 235 yards and 3 touchdowns to go along with his 187 and 1 touchdown from Week 1 to improve the Seahawks to 2-0. The Cardinals looked nothing like the team that shocked the NFL last week when they went into SoFi Stadium and defeated the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Seahawks got the scoring started on just their second play from scrimmage when Drew Lock launched the ball to the 2025-26 Offensive Player of The Year Jaxson Smith-Njigba for an 82 yard touchdown. That play was the start of a 9 catch 155 yard day for the league’s top receiving threat. The Cardinals answered at the start of the 2nd quarter when Jacoby Brissett threw a 4th and goal Two-yard touchdown to Tight End Trey McBride.
The next score didn’t come until the first drive of the 2nd half when Drew Lock tossed his 2nd touchdown of the day to Jaxson Smith-Njigba, this one being a 7 yard strike into the end zone. Smith-Njigba got his 3rd touchdown of the day with 12:47 remaining in the 4th quarter on a 12 yard pass from Lock. Seahawks Tight End A.J. Barner found the end zone one final time for the Seahawks with 1:15 remaining in the 4th quarter on a tush push play to put the Seahawks up 31-7 and finish off their 24-0 run after the Cardinals scored their lone touchdown.
Coach of the Year candidate Mike McDonald is surely happy with Running Back Emmanuel Wilson’s performance as he carried the ball 21 times and picked up 92 yards on the ground to help control the clock. This helped the Hawks hold the ball for 36 minutes of game time compared to the Cardinals 23. The Hawks offense also picked up 23 first downs compared to the Cardinals 10. This was a dominant performance from start to finish and shows why this year’s Hard Knocks squad all have rings on their fingers.
The Cardinals will look to repeat their Week 1 performance and bury the tape from this game as they prepare to face another divisional opponent in the San Francisco 49ers. The Seahawks will take on the Marcus Mariota led Washington Commanders in Week 3.
