Jordan Love and the Packers found themselves down 14-7 heading into the 4th quarter at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, but ultimately found their way to a victory in overtime, improving to 1-1 on the season. Love threw 16 completions on 29 attempts for 145 yards and a pair of touchdown passes to MarShawn Lloyd and Christian Watson respectively. Sophomore Wide Receiver out of Texas Matthew Golden led the team in receiving with 4 catches for 58 yards.
Defensively for the Packers, Lukas Van Ness had a great game as he finished with 10 tackles and 1.5 sacks. Packers Safety Evan Williams finished with 10 tackles of his own.
Geno Smith completed 27 of his 41 pass attempts, getting him 247 yards and 1 td to WR Garrett Wilson who finished with 5 catches for 57 yards with that touchdown. Breece Hall and Adonai Mitchell had 63 yards each with Hall having 5 catches and Mitchell having 6. Hall had a rough day on the ground as he finished with 16 carries for 29 yards.
This game saw the Jets blow a 17-7 4th Quarter lead and narrowly miss out on their first 2-0 start since 2015 under Head Coach Todd Bowles and Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. They’ll look for their 2nd win of the season next week as they take on the Detroit Lions. The Packers look to keep their momentum going as they prepare to face the struggling Falcons on Thursday Night Football.
